Baby Lane Arriving September 2010!

Baby Lane is on it's way! We Couldn't be any happier! Our journey has been hard yet filled with memories that we can cherish forever. I found out the first week in January and couldn't believe it! I didn't think it could really be true. We waited for this gift and it's finally here! I remember running all over the house trying to remember where I had things hidden away, so that someday when this moment came, I could tell Brenton the news in a fun way. In September, I mailed myself a letter to Mr. Brenton Lane from the Financial Aid Offices at Baylor (my work). Inside, the letter started "Dear Daddy..." and so on. I'll never forget the excitement I felt as I watched my husband open the letter I wrote long ago telling him he will be a daddy! He opened it thinking it was another letter from Baylor as usual since he is attending the University. We were both so happy and we went out for dinner to celebrate. My first appointment wasn't until I was 8 weeks. I was told we would have an ultrasound! This date couldn't get here any quicker. I wanted to shout to the world that I was pregnant!
The appointment went really well and we were blessed to find out that we had a very healthy little one that is growing just as it should. Seeing our baby for the first time was the most amazing feeling. We got to see the heartbeat. We immediately got everything ready to tell our parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins the news! I made our Mothers a bracelet to wear with a card that would hold the sonogram. We also made them a flower pot with seeds along with a poem Brenton came up with. He did such a good job!
"A seed has been planted in this pot just so, please water it and say a prayer as our baby will grow.
And as this seed turns into a flower, may your thoughts be with us hour by hour."
We had each family over for dinner to tell them the news. Everyone was thrilled and very excited!!! It felt so good to finally give our exciting news! Below are the announcements that I made for my work. I placed them inside everyone's mailboxes. Shortly after, I began to hear shrills from the women I work with and before I knew it, I was surrounded!
This is a very exciting time in our lives right now and I couldn't be more blessed and thankful for a God so wonderful and perfect. Everything is in His timing, not our own. He has truly given us a gift. The gift of life. Please pray for our pregnancy. I can't wait to see what our new journey will bring!

5K... Check!

One of my goals: Run a 5K... and I did it!
This was from last Saturday. I ran the 5K with ladies from my work. My supervisor and I placed at 32 minutes! I'm not sure if I should be proud of that time or not. Now I can mark it off my list of things I would like to accomplish!

Wedding Excitement

This weekend I get to be a part of my best friend's wedding! This last weekend we threw her a fun girls night to go out and have a good time together! All the girls went shopping and we all bought matching outfits. When I say matching outifts, I mean they were all basically the same idea and same colors but different in their own way. Some wore skirts and some wore dresses. We all went with a 50's theme and wore pink and black. Courtney, the bride, wore mainly white with a small black and pink thrown into it. We had so much fun. We got a limo to take us to the restaurant we were going to be eating at for the evening. The food was delicious. We all plan on wearing the outfits again for rehearsal on Friday night. I'm excited to be a part of her big day!
I loved having my hair curled. I don't do it often at all. Courtney spent the night at my house the Friday before and she helped me with my hair. It turned out really cute. I had to take a picture of it because I knew brenton wouldn't get to see my hair like that ever again... until I can get curling it perfected! Here is a picture of all the bridesmaids! This was taken a few months ago. We all got together, had lunch, and made jewlery for the wedding.

Christmas Vacation

We left the day after Christmas to journey to Tennesse, where we would spend nothing but pure relaxation in a beautiful cabin located in the mountains! We made a pit stop in Memphis, however, to see Graceland. Mom has always wanted to see it. I'm not a fan of Elvis but after seeing the place and hearing oh his life, he has grown on me a little. Below are a few pictures of our cabin. I took so many photos that I couldn't decide which ones to post. These are my favorites!
The hot tub was our favorite thing to do at night. It was so cold! As soon as we would get to the cabin for the evening, we would all jump into our bathing suits and relax while we ate candy and sipped on sparkling juice! This was taken from the balcony of our cabin!Mom relaxing inside the living room!
Everything was so relaxing. Our cabin was filled with Christmas decorations everywhere. Our Christmas wasn't over until the first of January, just because you couldn't help but feel the warmth and excitement from the cold weather and Christmas cheer inside our cabin and the town. We did get to see snow! We only saw it in the Smokey National Park once we got up into the mountains. It was absolutely beautiful. We will be back to Tennesse for sure! This is a Christmas to remember forever. It was quality time spent together and memories we'll talk about forever.

Happy Birthday Mom... Happy Birthday Jesus!

This Christmas was a very special Christmas. We had lots of family in town and had so much fun spending our time off from work to be with them every day. For the first time in my life I had two weeks off for the holidays. I really like my job! My mother's birthday is on Christmas which is already special, but this year, she turned fifty! We had to make this one extra special for her. We threw her a surprise party a few days before the big day. We had so much fun and I think she really enjoyed everything.
After the party was over and everyone left for the night, Brenton and I wrote a special birthday message and sent the note attached to the balloons just for Jesus! As we released them and watched them fly away into the night sky, I couldn't help but shed a tear just thinking about the blessings He has given us and the life he gave for us. Happy Birthday Mom... Happy Birthday Jesus. We love you.

Church Christmas Party!

We had so much fun at our Christmas party this year with our small group family. It started with yummy food and games in a room filled with fun and laughter. Then we all gathered around for our famous white elephant exchange. Our exchange isn't like any other white elephant. Every gift exchanged at ours is horrible! Maybe it's because we are young marrieds and are all poor?! Or that we are all young and think it's mean and hilariously funny to watch someone open gifts like moth balls, ridiculously old movies, dollar store fruit cake, your grandmother's soap dispenser, or a wedding gift you just didn't know what to do with. Passing Emma around is my favorite part of every gathering. She is adoreable!
Below, Ricky is opening the gift Brenton brought. The look on everyone's face is priceless. He went out and got a live goldfish as his gift.Surprisingly, the goldfish was a hit! The Bryants stole it from Ricky... it got intense! They decided to name him Goldie! Thanks to all for such a wonderful time. We love each of you and are so blessed to have you in our lives!
